Italy in June
Hi again,
I am going to be in Italy in the month of June. I am not that picky about places to
stay so I am wondering if I will need reservations at all. I will be in Levanto,
Tuscany, Sardinia, and possibly Sicily.
Any other ideas for any other of these regions would be appreciated as well.

I do not think it is a good idea to go to Levanto without a reservation. As to
Toscana, Sardinia and Sicily, it depends on where in Tuscany, Sardinia and

I do not think it is a good idea to go to Levanto without a reservation. As to
Toscana, Sardinia and Sicily, it depends on where in Tuscany, Sardinia and

If you know where and when you'll be in a certain place, then make a reservation.
With e-mail, it is very easy. I can't foget last fall when we were on Corsica and
visited the town of Corte -- all the guidebooks said "plenty of hotels available."
So -- we got there and there wasn't a room available in the eight hotels we tried.
What a waste of time. Luckily in the other towns oon Corsica we had reserved rooms
ahead of time.

As Luigi was saying, we tried to get a room anyplace in Levanto last July, and
started two months in advance, and could get absolutely nothing. June might be
better, before the Italian holidays.
