Hi,
I am planning a short trip to Iceland (just over a week) mid-April,
and I was wondering what some of the must-sees are. Also, has anyone
used the bus passport to get around? And is it easy to get around if
you only speak/read English?
Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you like and if you mind covering a large area.
I have a travelreport on my site with a short description of our 2001
trip (url in sig below).

Most if not all Icelanders speak English.
You wil like Iceland, I hope the weather will work for you. It can
change quick from warm sunny to freezing rain (even in August).

I went there with an Elderhostel group so I didn't have to worry about
public transport, so I can't answer that part. It does seem as if a LOT
of people speak English. Must-sees vary from person to person. The trip
I took hit all of mine and then some 8-) For an idea as to what they
were, have a look at the Iceland part of my website:

Iceland has all kinds of great saga-related stuff and fascinating
geology. Neat horses, too.

One warning, in April the busses still run on winter schedule, which
means that some busses won't ride daily and others not at all.

This is sadly true. In April, you are limited to a few sites close to
Reykjavik such as Gullfoss and
Geysir. My favorite place suches as Lake Myvatn, the Kjolur Route, and
the Southwest are pretty much closed until some time in June. The bus
system IS excellent, and you should encounter little or no trouble
visiting the places that are available.
When I was there in 2001, the BSI station also had a very decent
restaurant, a few Macintoshes hooked up to the Internet, and an
excellent travel agency. Check to see if all are available when you go.
