Default I need help for the Cote d'Azur area.

Hello,
I am looking for a nice hotel in either the Cannes or Nice area. Hopefully it
would be somewhere where we could wander the streets at night and maybe find a
nice restaurant for dinner. We will be there in October.
Would you also say that, in general, Cannes or Nice is more expensive.
Thank you and Regards,
Father Matt

bonjouor
for general info on the riviera, check out

cannes and Nice are different but anyway if you stay in Nice you will go
to Cannes and MOnaco, and vice versa; Nice is a larger city with about
25 000 students and therefore more life year round
have a nice trip

Both towns have loads of nice hotels in the city centre, covering both ends
of the price spectrum . In October, you won't have any problems finding
rooms--except possibly during MIPCOM festival, Oct. 10-14 where TV
programmes are bought and sold in Cannes.

You make no mention of your budget, but the Hotel Florian is a nice little,
family-run, 2-star hotel in Cannes, a couple of blocks from the heart of the
Croisette. They also have studios for longer stays.

The area is full of restaurants and a market is close by. You can
essentially walk everywhere.

Or you could try the fancier, 3-star Hotel Renoir, on the same block as the
police station. This is in a slightly more tranquil area, but a10-minute
walk takes you to either the Croisette or the Suquet.

I live in Cannes and find it very safe, though one of my summer tenants had
her bag stolen last week when she left it on the beach to go swimming.

La Bergerie is an unknown quantity at this point

Hello Father Matt,

We run a Bed and Breakfast near bar Sur Loup, twenty minutes from Nice and in the beautiful Gorges du Loup valley. You would need to hire a car from say Nice Airport but we are sure that you would really enjoy it.

Its peacful, with stunning views and lovely country walks and probably a lot cheaper than some of the Hotels in and around Nice.

Let us know if you are interested and I will send you more details

Here is our web site

Well I suspect, since Father Matt posted this over a year ago, you're
probably a little late.
