Possibility isn't it. I doubt I could tell Quebecoise(?) from
French.

No, the Quebecoise generaly are equal opportunity nose pickers, using the
fingers of either hand, while the French, due to spreading Islamic
influences no doubt, use only the right.
They couldn't have been Cajuns/Acadians from Louisiana, since few if any
written versions of their dialect (except song lyrics) have been published.

The Quebecoise version of French sounds so utterly different that quite
often on French TV they will subtitle what they are saying, as it is barely

Last time I was in England, a program on the BBC was interviewing a Texan
and they found it necessary to add subtitles...

American variations of their languages than the North Americans do
understanding the way Europeans speak.
I don't know of any Quebecois who have problems understanding French from
France.
I also suspect a Mexican in Madrid would fair better than a Spaniard in
Mexico City.
