Hotels in Rome thru Expedia
I am planning a trip to Rome in April and have been exploring
air+hotel packages on Expedia. I would like to hear from people who
have used Expedia to book vacation packages and would like
recommendations re hotels. Any and all replies welcome. Thanks!!!

I used Expedia for a week's stay over Christmas, going from Frankfurt
via Alitalia. There were no surprises and the hotel was as described at
the website. A happy experience. Many, many hotels were offered, but the
one I chose, based on price and location, was within easy walking
distance to the Vatican and the Metro stop at Cipro: Quality Hotel Nova
Domus. The breakfasts (included) there were consistently good and I also
had excellent dinners on Christmas eve and Christmas night at extra
cost. I used the Metro to go to the more distant places such as the
Coliseum. At 0.77 Euro per entry and very frequent trains, it was
perfect. I even went to Ostia Antica for 0.77 Euro from the Termini. The
train to/from the airport was the only other transportation I used, but
even for that, I saved a bit by taking the Metro to a stop nearer to the
airport, then boarding the train.
