Hello,
My travel agent is recommending Hotel Marteli in Florence and Hotel
Veneto in Rome. What do you think about these? The accomodations
look very good. However, what about the location? The atmosphere?
The service? Would you recommend any other hotel instead? I saw some
discussions about Veneto on this group, but Marteli did not bring up
any search results (in English).
Thank you very much for your help!

Out of curiosity I took a quick look in the Italia Michelin Red Book,
but neither seems to be listed.

Assuming that you left off one l try
http://www.hotelmartelli.com
It looks pretty central and the rooms they show are large for the price.
The Veneto also looks nice

The roof top bar restaurant would be a plus.
