Is anyone familiar with this hotel? Any feed back is appreciated. We =
will be arriving by train late afternoon so transfer should not be a =
problem. But departure we have a 7am flight from CDG I've already =
resigned myself to taking a taxi, Will it be a problem getting a cab at =
4:30am or is that giving myself too much time to get to airport and =
check in? Rue Clerc looks nice no traffic and interesting shops.=20
thanks in advance for the help.

I'm not familiar with the hotel itself, but the rue Cler is a very nice
part of town, and the hotel is at one end of a pedestrian shopping
street that is quite pleasant. The Eiffel Tower is about a five-minute
walk from the hotel.

I stayed there a few years ago and liked it. The room was tiny, but we
had a perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. It was particularly nice in the
evening, when it was illuminated.

Rue Cler is also very nice. The location is good. Enjoy your trip.

I had to stay at this hotel twice in recent years as others in the area were
booked. Any other hotel in the 7th arr. of Paris would be a much better
choice. Can't imagine anyone recommending this shabby establishment. Also be
advised that I stayed in the Rue Cler area two weeks ago and noticed that
the building housing this hotel is being remodeled on the first floor. This
is the Bank Populaire part of the building. Heavy construction work, lots
of noise and dust. A much better choice is right across the street at the
Hotel Leveque. Have a great trip. New twinkle lights on Eiffel Tower will
be working when you get there.

Thank you all for the information. How far of a walk to the metro is it?

From Metro Line 8 station "Ecole Militaire" to Hotel La Serre or Hotel
Leveque is about 5 minutes. Get off the Metro, take the stairs and exit to
the right,do a 180 degree turn after exiting the stairs and walk about 75
meters, turn left on Rue Cler and it's about 2 blocks to the hotels.
