It's not OK to scream at the poor underpaid staff at the check in
desks at all.

how true :-)

Many people expect & get many free alcoholic drinks.

I always think about this when I drive near the exit from an airport.

Air France stewardesses can't be retired early. They keep them unto
they are unable to use their zimmer frames.

When I've not had the code they've just said fine, no problem, didn't
look it up for me, but then I had no use for it anyway.

KLM strategy personoids = The accountants who run the airline?

There is a great psychological divide between being a passenger in a
plane and the driver of a car. It's not invariably matched by a
sufficient time divide.

I note a parallel phenomenon on car ferries.

For some, it's therapy. But the check-in staff are not paid to be
therapists.

Then there are the idiots who think it makes a difference to airline
performance.

Shout, but not scream, like you would to a foreigner? :-)

It's surprising that car hire desks at airports don't breathalyse
customers before handing over a car.

Exactly.

The Easyjet airline programs shown on TV rely people being late and
screaming at the check in staff.

I think the Easy Jet programs were taped quite a number of years ago,
when people were still learning what low cost airlines were all about.
But it was intertaining to watch some of those pompous as******
say things like "Ehmm...next time I shall certainly fly a decent
airliner, like BA." Like hell they would.
