It seems like you think Europe (it's not a country, it's a continent) is as
poor as Bolivia. With a small peace of historical knowledge you would know
the phrase.

You have given no information on what you actually like, only what you
dislike.
You have not been specific on what part of the continent of Europe (which
contains many very different cultures), you might be visiting.
You are most likely a troll.

Then perhaps you should visit those other countries instead.

    > Maybe in the European imagination, there is no correlation.

See above. It would make sense to go where others are able to make
suggestions and see correlations.

    > Thing is, people who spend a lot of time in front of a computer studying
    > math or science tend to be a very international crowd.

Not at all. Such people tend to never even leave their hometowns. They
take little or no interest in the rest of the world, since the topics
that interest them do not require travel.

    > It is difficult to find a workplace or university anywhere
    > in the world, where math/science departments are not filled
    > with foreigners.

Most such departments are filled with natives, as one might logically
expect, although the educational institutions of some countries attract
large foreign enrollments, if they have good reputations.

    > I was going by your words, which made the options sound so limited.

I don't recall describing any options.

It's interesting that you assume I would trash them, and consider it a
trap. As I've said, your hostility is patent.

Yes, generally. But when they are trying to lose weight (or claiming to
try to lose weight), they count calories (or claim to count calories).

    > I do not hesitate to call stupid people stupid. I do not call all people

There was no accusation involved. I observed that if your statement
were not universally applicable it could not be relevant in context.
That is, either it was universally applicable, or it was irrelevant.

    > They were heart-to-heart accounts with people I knew well.

Then why did they occur over the Internet?

No, it says nothing about his claim, which might be independently true
or untrue.

    > So are Europeans more afraid of the internet?

Some are, some aren't. Some of the worst paranoia is found in the
United States. In Europe it's more a matter of indifference than fear.

I guess that would be like "chewing gum" to Japanese. Everyone knows they
are not poor, but there is a generation of older Japanese that was given gum
by US troops. It's not good to talk about "vaccination" in some countries
either. It's good to know the exact form of their complexes, as I have
never heard of most of them.

Where?

They are not alone.

Why?

With your attitude? I'm not that gullible.

I don't count calories, do you?

You'll have to show me the exact context of all the former statements if you
wish to support your statement.

What makes you think they only occurred over the internet?

People seem to make this distinction based upon the way that a
person dresses, not on the colour of their skin.

I met an American tourist in June, who claims she had a deep-fried Mars bar
in Scotland - in a tourist area. You know, the sort of place where you can
find 'Hey Jimmie' bunnets.

Having shopped for fruits and vegetables in both the US and the UK, I've
been very pleased with the overall quality and variety in the UK, even in
the far north of Scotland.

Already have.

Do you know where I could meet more intelligent Europeans that have good
ideas?

I have never seen a department filled with natives. Care to name some?

Have you described any options at all? No, just that I should not come to
Europe.

Petter said "Internet cafes is very popular in countries where the people
can't afford a
PC and a proper bandwith at home. There is no connection between how
creative or enlightened people in the country are. It depends on how poor
they are."

You said "Affordability isn't the only factor to consider. Broadband access
is
cheap in France, and PCs are not expensive, but relatively few French
people own a PC, and Internet cafés do well because so few people invest
in home connections (despite their low cost and ready availability)."

Which contradicts his statement.

I have found out new things from leaving home.

Indeed, people with low self esteem are not alone.

You tell me, you're the one who made up the claim that Europeans don't like
to ask what you do for a living.

Personally, I would stop feeding the troll if I were you.
