Assuming you can carry your luggage on your own, then tube is by far the
cheapest, and probably the quickest. More info on the tube at
http://tube.tfl.gov.uk/

There is a stop right there (Tottenham Court Road) at the intersection
you mention, but coming from Heathrow, you would have to make one
change, at Leicester Square. That station and your destination are busy
at any time of day, but 1pm is not _too_ bad.

Taxi will be most convenient but will cost over £40

Underground railway (tube) will cost less than half that for four of
you, but train will get crowded in Central London and likely to make
for stressful journey. If you do go by this route get off train at
Piccadilly Circus and hail taxi in street for last part of journey
(about £5)

Heathrow Express train to Paddington may be quickest way but for four
of you may cost more than taxi and will leave you some way from your
final destination.

Or get off at Leicester Square or Holborn and walk.
