Yes, you are right; that was the original name of Haydn's composition.
I did say "now known as Deutschland..." mainly because not many but
Austrians would recognize "Gott erhalte...."! I believe the tune was
popular, and may still be for all I know, in English churches under
the name of "Austria".

Are you moon lighting as a milkman?

That makes a change from suggestions that you are a low grade public
servant :-)

My wife has a bad back and cant risk not getting seat on public
transport so I drop her off at work then drive back, same thing
in evening, to make it viable (the journey is Bexley-Barnet, I
suspect you know what that involves) we do three long days rather
than sit in the rush hour, luckily I choose when I work so its
possible.

A hint for John above :-)

It's now obvious to all that you are a mini cab driver, possibly
living on your wife's (immoral) earnings :-)

LOL closer than John :-)
living on wifes earnings is pretty good looking at our tax
returns. Doing well today, sold a photo for £20, can afford baked
beans for lunch :-)

That would be a turn up indeed. Mys pics are only of appeal to
those who know British hills, they shift, when they do so, on
basis of buyer knowing they are taken in reasonably exceptional
conditions.

Indeed. I did hear of a group of German POWs who were allowed to attend
church near their camp in :Lancashire, who were rather startled when the
organist struck up that particular tune!

That pic reminds me of a photo from Ben Nevis I that I have lost
somewhere. Oh well.

I have sold a few pictures in my life, usually to marketing people who
may or may not use them. Here are some viewy type ones, scanned with a
super cheap scanner, so the quality is mediocre, but you get the idea.
Numbers 2 and 3 have been sold.

You get 10 points if you can identify where these pics were taken. The
image names may help for a couple...

I'm reasonably confident I don't know where any of them are. come
on somebody!
The beach is reminiscent of a place in N Mallorca, but not quite
right.
