There's an amusing piece in today's (London) Times on how foreign
guidebooks depict Britain. Worth looking at if you chance upon a copy.
It's in the T2 tabloid section. (Sorry, I'm offline so can't check if it's

If you're amused by this, you might try to find a copy of "Letters
From England" by the Czech writer Karel Capek. Much of it is clearly
and admittedly superficial, but his characterizations of Londoners are
very sharp.
