Default Greece Trip Conclusion/Summary

Just returned (6-28) from 18 days total in Athens, Poros, Paros,
Antiparos and used every travel mode possible. Donkeys, foot power,
catamaran, hydrofoil, ferry (now including an escalator!), buses,
railroads, sailing vessel. It was our greatest trip over the last 12
years ( six trips total) and despite increased prices and disrupted
Athens streets preparing for the Olympic Year, we enjoyed ourselves.
The US dollar was down but maybe it was time for it to be reversed. We
had it strong for all the other trips. Poros is our new favorite
island. Thanks to Carole for her info on the airport bus for E2.90
each way. Great and simple to use. Train from Monastiriaki to Piraeous
was a snap. Met lots of interestinmg folks from Canada and UK. Some
great kids from Greece and Taiwan. Thanks to Matt Barrett and you all
for all the information that we managed to capitalize upon. Bill

Matt seems to be a sort of celebrity in certain parts. I saw a café at Sérifos proudly
announcing that it was mentioned in Matt's site (I didn't try it).
