I'm sure this is sometimes true, although my experience in September five
years ago was very different.
If you can't get the web site to work (you could maybe try a different
browser), I suppose you could ask a travel agent to do it for you.

I'm not sure, but could you order your tickets from a cybercafe or travel
agent in Barcelona? Then you'd be able to make the reservation days, not
months, in advance.

I'm a little late to this thread, but I would highly recommend
spending the night in Granada.
I spent two nights. You can see more than just the Alhambra, but the
Alhambra itself is worth savoring. I spent most of the day at the
Alhambra, and then spent the evening in the area overlooking the
Alhambra, where you can see the Alhambra illuminated while drinking
wine and eating tapas. There is no reason to rush through this area
of the world.
