I experienced the same thing on a ferry going from Venice to Patras. I
took their stuff off the seat dumped it on the deck and moved the
seat to another part of the deck and sat on it.

No. Having a RHD gives one a close up view of cyclists trying to kill
themselves under your wheels.

That's my experience here - you can pass VERY close to cyclists, and
watch them shit themselves as you whizz past.

Also you can pretend it's the front seat passenger who's driving.
People are often shocked to see my daughter apparently at the wheel of
the car. If we had a dog it would be even more fun!

Dutch cyclists never shit themselves, they look the other way right up
to the moment that you flatten them.

Feet up on dashboard reading a newspaper, something we do in UK :-)

You should have thrown them overboard and for good measure the
books and towels too :-)

you could have Christian tattooed on your forehead, I don't
suppose many Muslim fanatics would want to do that, but would a
police marksman be able to tell a fake tattoo from a real one?
Maybe better to just take a chance and don't run away from police
in direction of a train or carry a concealed chairleg.

The general opinion there is that "Possession is 9/10 of the law"... a
towel or book cannot possess anything.
