Default Frankfurt connection

I've managed to figure out that Frankfurt Airport has showers
available for a charge of 6 Euros. But now I'm wondering if I should
actually take advantage of the opportunity.

I have a layover of 90 minutes. Assuming everything is running on
time, would you feel comfortable taking the time for a shower before
traveling onward? I'll have a full day ahead of me before settling in
for the night when arriving at my destination, so would really rather
shower after the overnight flight from the US before going onward.
I'm just afraid 90 minutes might be cutting it close on time
considering deplaning, finding the new gate, and boarding times. Any
opinions?

Also, this short layover is the only place in my trip that uses Euro
currency. Do these facilities take Visa or should I also plan on
trying to find an ATM for a bit of cash? Also, do the showers have
any kind of place for me to safely put a carry on bag or should I plan
on also finding a locker to store it in? All of this adds to the time
consumption involved....

Thanks for any opinions on the matter that you could offer!

might help.

Maybe 7 USD will do...

I *guess* so.

You might decide on the spot, depending on whether your plane from the
U.S. is early or late (they are seldom excactly on time).

Gate deadline for you connecting flight might be about 30 mintes prior
to scheduled departure; ask your airline and again at the airport.

[email protected] might also help for details.

Hi Ulf,

Thanks for the links. I'd already seen the links at the Frankfurt
Airport - it's where I learned of the showers and 6 Euro charge to
begin with. I guess I was looking more for personal experiences and
opinions as to whether or not 90 minutes is enough time to have a
shower and still catch a connecting flight.

As I can use *my* shower within 90 minutes after arrival, didn't try
that one...

As I said, you will have *more* or *less* than 90 minutes. Overnighters
from the U.S. *may* arrive 30 to 50 minutes early. I would give it a try
while having at least 70 minutes from entering the terminal.

Have good flights, ULF

Out of curiosity where are the showers located? Are they in the hotel area?

The ones I'm looking at are in Terminal 2, Level 2. Click on the link
in Ulf's post above for a map. Or, go to
http://www.frankfurt-airport.de/ and use the scroll down menu to click
on "Baths/Showers."
