forfeiting half of a return fare

Dear all, another question here about travelling Paris-Heathrow: I'm
considering it may be worth buying a return ticket on BA and simply
not using half of it. However, Heathrow/CdG/Heathrow is cheaper than
CdG/LHR/CdG, and I won't be using the Heathrow->CdG segment. Is there any
danger that if I don't use the outward portion of a ticket, BA could
cancel the "return" portion too?
The summary of fare conditions on BA's website is a little obscure to me.
I'll paste it in here with apologies for the shouting:
Summary of Fare Conditions
CHARGES FOR CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
London - Paris
CANCELLATIONS ANY TIME TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE. NOTE - CANCELLATIONS-
BEFORE DEPARTURE FARE IS NON-REFUNDABLE.IF COMBINING A NON- REFUNDABLE
FARE WITH A REFUNDABLE FARE ONLY THE Y/C-CLASS HALF RETURN AMOUNT CAN BE
REFUNDED. AFTER DEPARTURE AT ANYTIME FARE IS NON-REFUNDABLE. IF COMBINING
A NON-REFUNDABLE FARE WITH A REFUNDABLE FARE REFUND THE DIFFERENCE/IF
ANY/BETWEEN THE FARE PAID AND THE APPLICABLE NORMAL BA ONEWAY FARE.
CHANGES ANY TIME CHANGES NOT PERMITTED. NOTE - UPGRADES - NOT PERMITTED AT
ANY TIME
CHARGES FOR CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS
Paris - London
CANCELLATIONS ANY TIME TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE. NOTE - CANCELLATIONS-

Now, since those conditions are given separately for each segment, I would
imagine that the non-refundable cancellation of the outbound segment does
not cancel the return portion, which I could still use. Can anyone confirm
this from experience?
Many many thanks --Annette

If you do not show up for the outward portion of your itinerary they will
cancel your return.

The danger of this is basically 100%.

If you use only half, use the first half.

BA wont cancel your return but their computer system will; automatically.
There's no way around it.

Wouldn't they object to this also? i.e. Would they attempt to recover the
full single fare from you?

In principle they can, although they don't often do it. I hear on the radio
about someone wh did exactly this and the airline (BA as I recall) charged
their credit card for the difference.
I don't know, but it might bet better to use the outward half and call and
cancel the return half - at least the airline can resell the return seat.

How? In which country?
(Everything indicates that the last thing airlines want is testing their
fare rules in court. Sure, if the situation is such that they are in
control they'll use it. But so can you. As they say, possession...)
