Football in London in July
I'll be in London from July 12 to July 16, and I'd like to see some fotball
(preferrably Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal, but Div 1 or 2 teams will do as
well).. Are there any interesting pre-season training matches in those days?

Check the clubs' official sites through Google. Higher league teams often
play their friendlies at smaller grounds. But since Premiership doesn't kick
off till Aug 16, I don't think you'll find many games featuring top teams.
Some go abroad for pre-season friendlies/tournaments. But official websites
will show what's what.

That is outside the football season.

Most English clubs go on pre-season tours in the summer, though I feel
your dates are too early either for them or the home friendlies they
sometimes play. Arsenal used to go to Scandinavia a lot, but since
Wenger took over it's usually France and Switzerland, sometimes
Germany. You'll be hard-pressed even to find training games then, as
it's when the players are on holiday. AFC's web site lists two games
against Rangers and Celtic, but not till Aug. The season's the same in
Div 1+2. If you do come in the season, bear in mind it's (until they
move) well nigh impossible to just turn up and see an Arsenal home
league game- the ground is way too small- while Chelsea and Tottenham
are notoriously expensive. You could try someone like Charlton or
Fulham (who play at QPR's ground), or West Ham though they've been
relegated.
