Favorite Prague hotel/Gay Pride
I'm going to be in Prague July 26- Aug. 3. Wondering where to stay.
Want some place scenic and beautiful, with character and views. I
understand I may have to pay dearly for this, but if there are any
bargains to be had, please share!
Also, I've heard that Prague's Gay Pride festival is this week. Can
anyone confirm? Know of any particularly fun activites connected to
Pride?
Thanks so much!

Re: Favorite Prague hotel/Gay Pride
Here are a few links that might help you:
http://prague.gayguide.net/ it's mostly an accommodations service for gays,
but also has some gay links and information. My partner and I stayed in one
of the apartments, which was not exactly luxurious, but was a good value and
a fantastic location. We were there the first week in May.
www.amigo.cz is the local gay magazine. Maybe you can find out about the
Pride info from them.
Have fun, it was our first time in Prague and we will DEFINITELY go back
there. We are not "bar" types,
and did not do lots of nightclubs, but the food, drink and friendly people
in the neighborhood restaurants were really nice.

If you can get a front room, we found the view from the Golden Star on
Nerudova was priceless! Just a very short walk to Prague Castle and to the
Strakov Monastery, it was great! I liked the ambience of the Marla Strana
section over Old Town. John in Annapolis

Re: Favorite Prague hotel/Gay Pride
So I posted my question to the world -- then forgot to come back and
check for answers! Sad, eh?!
Anyway, I just remembered that I forgot today -- wanted to say thanks
for the information. We haven't yet settled on a place, although my
partner has reserved a room at the Crowne Plaza. (He got quoted a
really good rate.) But everything I've read about the place makes it
sound dreadfully boring, although well located. What do y'all think?
