extremadura suggestions
Looking for suggestions from anyone that has travelled through out
extremadura and "discovered" some perfect little towns or villages that have absolutely NO tourist sites but have a great location (on a river or within easy reach of hiking trails and have a nice clean hostal available) Not too interested in what you can find in guide books. I am driving so prefer to be off the beaten path! Thanks Joe =========================================== website: http://muskokaPHOTOGRAPHY.com |

If you get away from the main centres you will constantly drive through villages where they are surprised to see a stranger. Hiking trails are another thing, if you do find any, I doubt they will be busy. Maybe ask in Trujillo about the Sierra de Guadalupe? People do walk in the sera de sao mamede, I understand. Rivers near hostals near trails defeats me, I'm afraid. -- Mike Reid Walking in Spain, guides, photos, food etc. "http://www.fell-walker.co.uk" |

It could be a hot place to go walking though...... Parque Natural de Monfragüe is well worth a visit - and Trujillo is a small town close by infested with storks. There are a few suggested routes on http://alcazaba.unex.es/rutas/index.html Extremedura Junta is at http://www.juntaex.es - there may be some information links from there. hwyl! geraint. |
