NO unless you have already done an expedited emergency walk through your
daughter will not be allowed to travel. The air lines are responsible for
keeping undocumented or improperly documents pax off of the planes or they
face penalties.

Probably not - but you may be able to get her a so-called "emergency
passport" that will be sufficient.

Ummmm - nationality of your daughter? MAYbe if she is an EU citizen and the
flight originates from an Schengen country, she isn't required to have a
passport? Better call the right instance in your country and possibly also
the Spanish Embassy, though few embassies are open on Saturdays. Some might
have an emergency number you could call, though - and I would say this was
now in the emergency category.

Officially no but if you all have EU (British) passports chances are that
the airline nor immigration will check the validity of your passports and in
practice you will be OK.

I very much doubt it, I have noticed that both airline and immigration staff
have tightened up alot lately. Gone are the days when you just had to flash
something purple.
Happened to my wife a few months ago... realised her PP had expired 2 weeks
ago 2 days before travel. Called Lufthansa, and they said no way. So a day
trip to London, a 4 hour wait and a hefty fee was in order.

The airline WILL check, they get hit with hefty fines
if they dont and someone gets caught at the other end.

From the Passport Website: Travelling within 48 Hours

Cost of renewing passport at very short notice £71 for child and £89 for
adult.

You will need to make a personal application at one of our offices, using
our Premium service. There is an additional fee for this service (see
above). You must make an appointment before calling at one of our offices
by phoning the Passport Adviceline on 0870 521 0410.
Please note:

a.. You should be aware that there are only a limited number of
appointments allocated for each day, and that these are allocated on a first
come, first serve, basis. The UKPS cannot, therefore, guarantee that
customers will be allocated an appointment in time for them to obtain a
passport.

b.. The Premium service is a guaranteed one-day service (provided it is
received before the cut-off time). This service is not available for people
applying for a first passport, or to replace a lost, stolen, or damaged
passport. Your passport will be made available for collection at your
passport office.
If someone is collecting your passport for you, they must provide evidence
of their identity and a signed letter of authorisation from you. If the
application is for a child, the person who has signed section 09 of the form
must sign the letter. A passport can only be issued if the applicant is in
the UK at the time of the application.

The guarantee for this service only applies if your application is properly
completed and straightforward. The onus is on you to provide a properly
completed application form and the required supporting documents to confirm
identity and eligibility. If the information provided is incomplete, or in
our view not sufficient to confirm eligibility, we may not be able to issue
a passport in the expected time.

You are therefore strongly advised not to book any travel arrangements until
you have received your new passport.

Perhaps you can get somebody to arrange a visit on Monday and ask the
airline to transfer her ticket to a flight on Tuesday / Wednesday (although
probably difficult if a charter and airlines make it very difficult these
days for minors to travel alone without a parent or guardian).

Good luck!

With less than 12 hours between the time of your
posting and the time of departure, I don't think there
is much that you can do.

Hint Mr Blunket: You'd think with all the modern technology being used
to fight global terrorism, that it might just be possible for
immigration at major UK airports to extend a recently expired
passport.
Of course if UK had I/D cards, she would be able to travel within the
EU on her I/D card.

True, but not usually on the same days as the passport.
AFAIK the local authority renews an ID card, whilst you wait in NL.

At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport they will also extend your passport if it has
just expired.

I thought so but wasn't sure. They issued a Dutch friend, who I was
traveling with, with a temporary I/D card when he forgot his passport.
This was decades ago, I was most impressed.
