I need to travel from the north of England to Norway and at another time to
Denmark - Jutland.
I've been told that there are economic Ryan air flights from Stansted to
Denmark which would be Ok but getting to Bergen - ferry only - seems quite
difficult.
Can anyone suggest websites to consult?

But Ryanair fly to both Haugesund and Olso in Norway which makes Bergen a
train ride away.
I think there are also flights from Newcastle and/or Edinburgh and/or
Aberdeen to Norway (may even be Bergen) which any IATA appointed travel
agent should be able to advise on. Some regular airline fares are not
horrendous these days.

Wideroe flies from Newcastle and Aberdeen to Stavanger, Norway. Not too far
from Bergen. Sometimes they have some good time-limited deals. Might be
worth checking.

Thanks to all respondents.
To someone who'se never travelled further than Liverpool - Belfast it all
looks daunting ... especially the ferry :-( Denmark is the most difficult,
there don't seem to be any direct air routs between England and where I need
to be.
I'll persevere. It looks as thought it would be a very good idea to ask a
specialist travel agent. I've also mailed the people who want us to go, they
come to England, they must know how to get back!

There are air services between Billund Lufthavn (in the mid-south part of
Jutland, but within 2 hrs. driving of almost anywhere on Jutland or Funen)
and Manchester (daily, except for saturday, British Airways) or Edinburgh
(twice a week, British Airways).

Really?! That sounds possible. I'll look into it. Not keen on Manchester
airport (well in truth I hate the Manchester motorways) but it's closer than
Stansted. On the other hand we have a son in Cambridgeshire who could ferry
us to Stansted and put our car in his garage ...
Decisions, decisions! I was going to say that I'd consult Spouse but that
would cause many more complications ... :-(
Thanks, there's no rush and every bit of information is being stored.

For a good overall view of fares and options on low-cost carriers, see
www.applefares.com - excellent search options to let you choose dates,
departure airports, and routings. With cheap domestic flights too it may be
worthwhile your taking a flight from say NCL to a London area airport and
onwards from there.
When you say "north", what are your most convenient airports? NCL, MAN,
GLA, EDI?

Thank you, I'll do that. My Danish contact has mailed to say that Ryanair
does the best deal from Stansted to Arhus. She's done it a few times but
I'll still look at applefares.

The MOST convenient is Yeadon but they don't go anywhere we want :-) Spouse
says that he thinks there's an Airbus to Manchester from Leeds which might
be a help.
I'm determined to crack it!
