Default England car/drive hire

Does anyone have advice about hiring a car and driver in England.
We'd like to go as we please, but are chicken to drive. We thought a
car and driver would be a good way to go.

A dammed expensive one though, one company that does
this is 21st Century Saloons and they charge £25 per hour
+mileage over 50 miles .

Trust me driving on the wrong side of the road isnt that
hard , I do it all the time in the USA and Europe.

Failing that use public transport and cabs.

You do realise that it is going to cost you big bucks, don't you? If so,
look at http://www.chauffeurs.biz/index.htm

Northern ones are no different to Southern ones.

80-90mph is usual. But no different to speeds I experienced driving between
Washington DC and New York.

Driving over here is not that difficult (except London) because you just
follow the car in front and hope he/she is going the same way as you.
Failing that UK public transport is vastly superior to American public
transport due to the fact we have a very high population density in a
small area compared to the USA.

For some strange reason many Americans I have spoken to love our
roundabouts. These are circular road junctions where you give way to
traffic coming from the left (in theory)

What ever option you chose enjoy yourself.

You mean traffic coming from the right of course, if you are talking UK
roads.

I'd strongly advise giving way to traffic coming from your left too!
If they're going that wrong, best avoid!

Jim.

You don't need a car to go as you please in England. Unless you get
the car and driver more or less for free it is a very bad idea.

Completely disagree. There are a great many of places, especially out in the
countryside which are extremely poorly served by public transport, but have
good road links.

Unless you get

For certain.
