Edinbugh Hotels
My wife and I will be travelling to Edinburgh in April and we are looking
for a nice centrally located hotel.
I was thinking of something around 100 pounds a night, but I don't want to
waste what little time we have in Edinburgh commuting into the sites.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

You should be able to get something very decent for £100 per night.
I've stayed in the Jurys Inn http://www.jurysdoyle.com/ that was only £55
per night and it's just off the Royal Mile and next to Waverley train
station.
There is a travelodge across the road and that has similar prices as I
remember.
There are several other posher hotels in that area too.

IME paying rack rate £100/night would be bottom end of the market for
a traditional hotel near Princes Street or the Old Town. As you say
the lodges are around £55.
There a few discounted Edinburgh hotels on www.hrs.de

Re: Edinbugh Hotels
I have stayed several times at the Radisson SAS Hotel, (former Crowne Plaza)
which is right on the Royal Mile. Have stayed there on 3 separate occassions,
after a disasterous stay at a property about 3/4 mile from the Royal Mile. The
location can't be beat....!
80 High St., Royal Mile. I quick check of the rack rate shows a mid-week stay
in April for 89 GBP pr night.... maybe they have special offers you can check?
Not too bad for a 4 star property... !
Even at 89 GBP per night, its location makes it my permanent Edinburgh
hotel...! And check out the Clamshell, a fish and chip shop just a few doors
away (closer to the castle), and just next to the Tron Kirk. We usually pick
up and eat on a bench at Hunter's Square, which is adjacent to the church, and
watch the world go by....
