Driving itinerary in France--questions

Please help me with my driving plans for France, beginning next week.
1.We plan to drive part of a day, sightseeing in the countryside south of
Carcassonne. How practical would it be to include Andorra on this drive?
2. Please recommend a scenic route from Salers in the Massif Centrale to the
Loire. (We'll be staying somewhere between Angers and Tours.) What is the
estimated driving time if one were to drive straight through? (I'll add time
for diversions, etc.)
2. Would this day be possible, without rushing: leave the Loire in the
morning, drive to Chartres for the cathedral, thence drive to Giverny by
evening, arriving before dark.
3. What is the driving time from Giverny to Calais by the most direct route?
I would like to spend the morning in Monet's garden, lunch in Giverny if
possible, then drive to Calais in the afternoon, arriving before dark. What
time would we likely arrive in Calais.
Your comments and recommendations would be most helpful. Many thanks.

Have you checked out your routes on one of the online mapping programs like
www.mappy.com or www.via-michelin.com? That's the best place to start.

If you drive on motorways, generally, you will cover an average of 110 km
per hour, on smaller roads, no more than 70. For long distances, better
stay on the motorways. Avoid the sourrounding of Paris between 7 and 10
and between 16 and 19 on work days.
If you want to avoid Paris you can reach Calais from Giverny by Rouen
(A28).
Passing through Angers is still a problem, dangerous and can take a long
time because the motorways are not completely connected.
There is a nearly direct road from Chartres to Giverny (Dreux, Vernon) not
too bad, but many villages crossing, so relatively slow. Don't expect to
reach Calais very early.

I would use a GPS if I were you...TomTom and the likes !
Andorra is nice and different, you'd need at least a whole day there and
going from Carcassonne you really can't do that in a daytrip.
Point number 2 is possible.
If you leave Giverny in the beginning of the afternoon, you can get to
Calais by the evening, it's dark after 8 pm now
Use the toll autoroutes and allow some time driving around Paris (avoid rush
hour!!!)
