Digital Camera adapters

Hi
Traveling to Rome next month. First time with a digital camera. To save
battery usage here, I use an AC plug-in transformer to the camera.
Although I have the usual kit of European adapter-transformer plugs, I'm
wondering if a special adapter might be necessary for a digital camera?
Thanks

Nothing special since the charger needs little current.

If you are from the USA would the differing voltages in Europe be a concern?
ie can your transformer handle 220 volts?

Look in the manual (if your camera accepts 110-230 Volts then it is
completely flexible). Chances are 99 out of 100 that this is so, and that
you will not need a "transformer"--you will simply need the little plug that
accepts thin American prongs and puts out round European prongs--simply a
matter of the shape of what sticks into the wall. I have a mittful of
these, and the average cost is $2.99 each.

My digital charger came with a converter for European plugs (the $2
kind). I have to assume the current would not be a problem.

Nowadays, virtually all devices accept 110v-240v current. Just get a
magnifying glass and look at the details on your unit, or look in the manual
to be absolutely sure.

Nowadays, I need a magnifying glass to read the print in the
manuals, too.... or maybe its just that my eyesight is going. :-/

Unless it's only for 110 volts.

Look at the charger and see what voltage it's supposed to work
on. Our laptop charger "knew" that we were on 240vac in Finland
with only a plug adapter.

There is no substitute for reading the manuals. My charger for my Nikons
batteries automaticlay adapts to European current. You still need the
adapters for the outlets.
