Default A day in Paris--on 24th Dec. Things that I can do? Suggestions

I will be reaching Paris on 24th Dec at 7 AM (from USA ) and than
will travel to UK by evening flight at 8PM.
I will be coming back to Paris on 29th Dec (around 2 PM) from UK and
will leave for USA on 31st Dec. In total I will be in Paris for two
and half days.

I would really appreciate if folks here can provide me some
suggestions as to how best I can spend the two and half days with my
family ( I have 3 kids less than ten year old)
Can I see Eiffel Tower on 24th Dec and be back to catch my flight to
UK in the evening?

Thanks

Don't miss the new gallery in the Louvre!
Allow as much time as the kids can handle, eat in one of the basement
cafeterias. The Egyptian exhibits are wonderful. Also try a *short*
trip on the Seine - the hop-on-hop-off boats will take you from Eiffel
Tower to Notre Dame; much of Notre dame is closed for renos, but the
underground excavations of the old Roman town are worth a look -
underground at opposite end of the square.

I don't think those boats run in December.
