Re: Customs at Gatwick

Hi Nick

I also get stopped 90% of the time, everytime I drive to France I get
stopped on the way back. No matter what car I'm in I get stopped.
I did land at Heathrow many years ago with to many cigs, so I thought as I
am bound to be stopped in the green lane I may as well go in the red lane.
This I did and the customs man said ,as I was honest, he would not charge me
for the extra cigs. result.

Having been through LGW countless times and picked up many people coming
into LGW I can tell you pretty acurately that it will take from 30-45
minutes from the landing time of the plane until you have cleared
immigration and customs and are in the main arrivals hall.

Depending on your nationality/passport of course.

Oh, and expect a slight delay if you've got a live hand-grenade in your
luggage.
