Currency in Croatia
Going to Croatia next week, should I take the bulk of my cash in local
currency or in US dollars, or even Euros?
Also, how easy is it to find an ATM when you need one outside the
major cities and on the islands?
Thanks

Preferably Kunas, folowed by Euros. US buck is not giving
a good bang at the moment.

Fairly easy. All major cards accepted.

ATM machines are everywhere...we took about $40 in kuna with us so
we'd have some cash (arrived by ferry at 6am, busses not running that
early, needed a taxi, etc.)...then for two weeks obtained our cash
exclusively via cash machines. Where are you going to go?

My experience is that it is fairly easy to find ATM's on the mainland,
and the major islands, but not on the smaller islands. Many islands
don't even have more then a few hundreds of inhabitants, so do not
expect an ATM there...

Hi,
We went there with euros (our local currency). Exchange to kunas was,
nearly all the times without any comission and very good rate. Pounds
are also accepted but don't know the rate. ATMs everywhere.
