From looking at http://www.m.dk/en/welcome/route.htm it seems
that the metro is finished in downtown Copenhagen and is now
being constructed from Lergravsparken to the airport. So is the
city center free of construction for now?

Yes - at least construction related to the metro. But there are plans
for further extensions.

Is there more construction in the city center now?

Oh yes, the ring line, but that is not even designed yet, right?

No more construction, the metro through the centre is completely
finished.

As far as I know its has not been decided yet exactly where the new
metro lines will be build.
But there is a ring line around the city centre for S-trains opening
sometime next year. As it is now all the S-trains have to go through
the city centre, and share just two tracks in the tunnel between Main
Station and Noerreport.

Free of construction? Hardly - there are still lots of things that are
being added, maintained and modernized. One notorious example is the
beginning of road repairs at Hans Knudsens Plads, through which all
cars from Northern Copenhagen drive to get to the city center. The
moment the general vacation finished, up came the lane closings and
diversions. :-/
But as far as the metro is concerned, your assumption is correct.
