not if that is the reason for the web site being crap (which it is,
crap that is).

That website is hardly crap. It needs more information to be added
to it, to be sure, but it is one of the better Internet sources for data
on Copenhagen.

It's usually a rip-off if you don't intend to visit several museums a day.
You're better off buying standard day (3-day, weekly) passes for transit
in most places.
Copenhagen Card, for example, is DKK 199 for 24 hours, while a standard
24-hour transit pass covering the same area is DKK 100. A typical museum
entry fee is DKK 20-30 ...

maybe, but for the Card it is crap.
It gives the prospective purchasor no idea of the area it
is valid for travel (the phrase 'greater copenhagen' means
about as much to a non resident as if it had said the dark
side of the moon). It gives no list of places that the card
provides free entry to (ticking free entrance and clicking
'select' provides a list of 1267 places many of which
are rental appartments, not museums). The card only does
two things: provide free travel and free mesuem access and
the web site gives no useful info on either of them, how much
crappier is it possible to be?

ever tried e-mailing them? That's where I got my information AND a great
map of the area as well as the brochure with info on the card.

The people in the tourist office across from Tivoli could not be more
pleasant or accomodating. It is too bad the web site doesn't work for you.
Basically if you are doing any museums and plan on taking the bus you will
do well with the card. I found the convenience of it worth for instance by
passing the lines at the zoo (yes, we go to zoos when we travel) We also
got zipped right into the art museum (with a promise to pick up a ticket
later for accounting purposes)

I assume you're talking to me as you've left my name at the top
but you've snipped everything that I said and left something
that is nothing to do with me.
Anyhow. I am not in anyway connected with the person on
this thread who wanted to visit Copenhagen. I was just lurking
as I am thinking of going there (and have been for 20 years).
As I am not yet in any way comitted to going, if the town
wishes to attract my custom it has to tell me what it has
to offer. It's website IMHO does not help in this respect.
If the rest of of you wish to ignore this point and want to
continue shooting the messenger, so be it.

Well yes, I was addressing your frustration with the website (guess I
didn't snip as much as I thought) The actual city is quite charming and
very tourist friendly in addition to being compact enough for walking.

You won't find anybody at Bernstorffsvej any longer. The main office
has moved to Gammel Kongevej 1:
http://www.visitcopenhagen.com/composite-102.htm
A map:

Still, I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience with an employee
there. Fortunately this doesn't seem to be a general problem.

Hmmm - I think I need to make a point. The official website of
Copenhagen, Denmark is:
http://www.visitcopenhagen.com
The website I run was created in 1996 due to a lot of requests for
photos from Copenhagen in this very newsgroup:
http://www.copenhagenpictures.dk
Of course it happens that we talk, but my site has a narrow focus,
which it is going to maintain for the foreseeable future. if you want
the comprehensive version, you should go to www.visitcopenhagen.com

No good sending anybody to the main office - the Tourism Information
meant for visitors is now located here:
Wonderful Copenhagen Tourist Information
4A, Vesterbrogade DK-1577 Copenhagen V.
- across the main entrance of Tivoli and just close to the central
station.
Map:
http://194.255.127.250/WOCO/index.js...4127&Y=6175664
It's pretty much at the other side of Vesterbrogade from where it was
before, at what used to be a Nokia store. Improved facilities IMHO.
