I am looking at flights to Oslo from the U.S., the best intinerary
appears to be SAS, with a change of planes in Copenhagen, however the
flight only has a one-hour layover in Copenhagen.

I've never been to the Copenhagen airport, so I'm wondering if this is
sufficient time to transfer between flights (and be relatively
confident of luggage arrival?)

I've passed through on the way Milan-Oslo or return 3 times (the other
one was routed via Stockholm), while I had the opportunity to terminate
my trip in Copenhagen this year, and I quite liked the arrangement of
the airport.

In this case my luggage was lost, but that happened in Milan or Paris,
not in CPH, and their recovery was quite efficient (I was continuing my
journey by train and they sent the lost luggage after me).

I do not know why you are worried by 1 hour connection time (why do you
want to wait more), if the airline guarantees it. Are you afraid of
delays in itnercontinental arrival ? Maybe an idea would be to monitor
the arrival times for a few days (I am not sure whether the airport web
site does that, but I used to do such checks on Paris when coming from
Santiago)

I believe we had similar connection times when we flew Milan-CPH-Oslo
and the connection was not a problem even if we were changing company,
which means different sub-terminal areas in the airport (still within
walking distance). If all your flights are SAS possibly they are in the
same terminal.

But I am not familiar with intercontinental stuff at CPH. Check on their
web site. Surprisingly enough it's just called with the 3 letter airport
code (wouldn't be great if ALL airports followed such convention) :

There is a menacing sign about non EU passport holders though (I don't
care of course)

I think you should be fine.
There are many daily flights between Copenhagen and Oslo, so even if
you loose one connection there will another one or two hours later.

I think you should be fine.
There are many daily flights between Copenhagen and Oslo, so even if
you loose one connection there will another one or two hours later.

The last time I got shipped to Copenhagen I would have needed an 28 hour
layover to make the luggage connection. FFM

You can be sure the Kastrup Copenhagen airport is efficient and 1h is
typically enough for transfer of you and your luggage. As you enter the
Schengen area at Copenhagen you'll have to face immigration and passport
control at Copenhagen (typically a matter of minutes assuming your papers
are ok) while you'll face customs with your luggage on arrival to Oslo.
Assuming you're traveling on a through SAS ticket you're granted a
connection on next available flight likely to be in an hour or so, should
your flight from US be a late arrival.

The Copenhagen is very nice. It is not huge, so I doubt you will have any
problem so long as your flight is on time.
