Default Cheapest Hotel in Central London

Hi all,

I'm going to London with my girfriend 20th of september until 24th of
september 2007.
I want to keep it very cheap.
So all i need is a double or twin room to stay in Central London.
Breakfast is an option, but i consider 95% include it.
So i doesn't matter. It doesn't have to be a 5 star. or a 100%
feedback.

Thanx for the information in advance.

Hannes: Many cheap hotels in central London are HORRIBLE. You are sometimes
better to stay well outside London and travel in by train. However, options
include:

http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/home.do - London Wimbledon South is 266
for 4 nights [which is pretty good for London and the hotels are OK]

http://www.easyhotel.com - the easyhotel Victoria has a double room for your
dates from 128. This is the absolute cheapest you are likely to find that
isn't a hostel. The rooms are very small and the cheapest have NO WINDOWS -
but it is cheap. Everything is extra - bedding change, TV remote control,
and so on, and you should read http://info.easyhotel.com/gb/Victoria.html to
check the rules and charges.

Hope this helps

A "HORRIBLE" hotel room might have insects, protruding nails, dirty
sheets, or brown water.

Most cheap hotels in central London have clean, small rooms with
proper bathrooms, but no extras - not exactly "HORRIBLE".

Do you really want to spend your vacation commuting? It's worth
staying near the center, and it doesn't have to be more expensive.

That's way too much to pay, even for London. On my first trip to
London, I stayed in the Royal National, which is about half that price
and in a great location near the British Museum.

I think that this price of £128 is for the 4 nights needed by the OP, not
just one night.
At least I hope that EasyCloset is not charging £128 per night.

I assume you mean you paid around £60-70 per night?

I don't really care about that, just don't want to sleep under a
bridge. Don't even know if that if possible or if that would be wet?

Don't want to, i choose to be close.

Way to expensive i found some other hotels much cheaper than that.

Indeed it has no windows. But they all have wc and shower on the room.
Hard to find in London for that price. Window, i don't really care
about that.
We don't going to use the room very much.

I second Travelodge. Liverpool St especially. Great location a short walk
from Liverpool Station.. You can buy breakfast, but not included in rate.
This location sometimes has the Super "Specials", but you will not see them
very often. . .. But the normal rates at this place are very low by London
Standards, and the accommodation is better than some of the smaller B&B's I
have stayed.

Have a great day today, and an even better day tomorrow.

I have stayed in bed and breakfasts in London because they tend to be
cheaper. I have stayed at http://www.morganhouse.co.uk/ and
http://www.cartrefhouse.co.uk/index.html both are nice and close to
Victoria Station. Coming back late at night have never felt unsafe.

There are other B&B which are cheaper. The thing you do have to check
is if the rooms have a bathroom in the room or down the hall. If they
don't have a bathroom directory attached, Ensuited, the toilets and
shows are down the hall and you have a sink in the room. Order the
Ensuited facilities request it when you get reservations.

One thing to balance in your plans. The Underground has gotten so expensive
that if you plan to spend most of your time in one area, it might be cheaper
to stay at a more expensive hotel near it than to stay in one further out.
Even Kensington commuting to Central London can get pricy.

No. Individual Underground tickets are expensive, but the 1, 3, and 7-
day passes are a good deal. The differences in price between hotels
are far greater than the cost of an Underground pass.

Hi all,

Thanx for the advice.
I booked at Hotel Annexe near Victoria Station.
156,80 for a double basic room.

Concerning the tube:
I'll take a 7-day ticket.

Many greetings and thanks for the help
Hannes
