Default cheap 3/4 nights in the middle of nowhere

Hi!

I'm looking to go away for a few nights at the end of April. Cheap and
quiet as possible. Will consider most places in Europe (but would
certainly prefer a bit of sunshine!). Ideally in a countryside
location. I will be travelling alone, so keeping that in consideration,
does anyone have any ideas?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,
Carolyn

Travelling from London. I was thinking maybe Greece or Italy, but I'm
very open to suggestions.

How about Ancona on the Italian East Coast. Very pleasent area and very
cheap flights from Stanstead with Ryanair. The area is similar to
Tuscany but without the expense.

Maybe Crete, but Malta doesn't have a middle of nowhere,
and I'd have thought Menorca didn't either.

Lots of options in Croatia, though it may not be as cheap.

The reason I suggested Croatia is that you can very easily get
to somewhere sunny and quiet only a short drive from a major
tourist airport with cheap flights (one of the hill villages
in Istria, say). Crete should be about the same (I haven't
been there) but it's a longer trip.

And I suggested Romania because it is very quiet, has beautiful scenery, is
inexpensive. In Romania you'll be sure to "get away from it all".
Transylvania is particularly beautiful and out of the way.

There is no way I could possibly agree more!

Romania is just amazing, even if the poverty strikes you as hard as
the beauty.
