Change in EasyJet cabin baggage policy

I just noticed at Schiphol that EasyJet now boldly advertises "No weight
restrictions on cabin baggage (within reason)". A cheap way to differentiate
themselves from RyanAir? Tired of all the bad press? Staff sick of arguments
with passengers over the last 50 grams?

AFAIR they restrict the dimensions and limit one to one piece of
luggage/

Ryanair don't fly to Schiphol unfortunately. That's another cheap way
:-)
Somebody from Easyjet claimed that they don't fly the same routes as
Ryanair, so Ryanair are not competitors.

They're just trying to encourage hand-baggage only I think, it's still
single item and the size is just s little bit larger than the regular
size hand-baggage allowed. It's also been there at least 6 months :-)
You've got to spend more time in Europe Miguel.

If it ain't reported in rec.travel.europe, it didn't happen!

I just spent a week freezing my ass off. 6 months from now it'll still be
cold. I can't win.

Ah but next off one of them will cancel hold baggage anyway.
My bets its Ryanair as they could sell seats (beds?) in the hold.

Air Inter advertised that they were going to transport passengers cars
in their Airbus holds shortly before they bought their first Airbus. I
don't think they ever did.

My theory still stands that Ryanair will will still implement their slave
policy. ie: strip a 737 down.. lay decks about 18 inches apart.. and the
weight reduction from no luggage or cloths and only a minor overhead for
shackles reckons me thinks about 700 pax in a 737.....
