Has anyone taken the bus? Do you have the schedule? I can't find a web
site that I can decipher...
If you did take the bus from Le Havre to Honfleur, what were the pros
and cons?
We just want to spend the day there and not be rushed with an
organized tour.
Thanks for any help.

I took the bus from Le Havre to Caen, stopping in Honfleur, in late May. I
don't remember where I found the schedule but I did, on the internet. The bus
leaves from beside the main train station in Le Havre. I thought the bus was
darned expensive, considering the distance.

Thanks, John - at least now I know were the bus station is located!
Well, I found a taxi (not a guide or English speaking) and a RT
Transfer (no tour or anything from Le Havre to Honfleur was 180
Euros.
The bus has to be a whole lot cheaper than that!

There's a <very> hefty toll on the bridge over the mouth of the Seine
which will bump up taxi fares particularly.

The bus company for this trip is "Bus Verts du Calvados" and has a
website including timetables and fares at
http://www.busverts.com/
I traced it from the Honfleur tourist office site at
http://www.ville-honfleur.fr/

Thank you, Andrew. I had found this site and have to admit that I
couldn't make the busverts.com work for me.
An email buddy - much smarter than I- is attempting to translate it
for me but I heard from him and he said he was very frustrated with
it.
He was going to get some of his French friends to help a bit.

You're right. I found and posted it before trying it out. It has the
worst possible system for the timetables. I did work out that the
relevant buses are numbers 20, 50 and an express but looking up actual
times seems impossible unless you already know the answers.

I thought some more about this after finding the mess that the bus verts
web timetable is. Perhaps the easiest way to find the info would be to
e-mail the Honfleur or Le Havre tourist offices. There's an e-mail
address on the Honfleur website [email protected] and probably
something similar on the Le Havre website.
I've e-mailed other cities' tourist offices about this kind of query and
often got helpful replies.
