Default Best markets in Paris?

I will be in Paris from next Monday to Thursday and was wondering if there
are any good indoor or outdoor markets?

Usual stuff. My wife likes clothes, I like technology and we both like books
and music.

Can you tell me where and when the market takes place?

Cheers.

Printemps, Galeries Lafayette, many streets in Paris with clothing (rue
Faubourg-Saint Honoré or avenue Montaigne for fancy stuff, boulevard
Saint Michel for young less expensive stuff, etc.).

FNAC for A/V equipment and some music. Virgin for a big selection of
music and video recordings.

Normally open markets are best for fresh food, although they often sell
limited amounts of non-food merchandise.

The outdoor market at Place Maubert is good. I think it is 2 or 3 times
a week but I don't know the days.

There are good book stores in the neighborhood because it is in the
latin quarter.

I "Paris for Food Lovers," Patricia Wells highly recommended the outdoor
market at Rue Poncelet in the 17e arrondissement.

It was also featured on a CBS Sunday Morning show & looked like fun. We'll
be going there next April for certain.

Bon Marche has a nice gourmet market. If you're in the Left Bank, you
don't have to go as far as the other department stores.

I liked Inno, across from Tour Montparnasse too, for food.

FNAC seemed to have bigger music and video selections, although the
Virgin on the Champs is huge. The one in the Carousel du Louvre is
kinda small.

Lot of farmer's or flea markets like the one at Rue de Bucci but IIRC,
that run only during fairly early hours.

I use to live in St. Michel and like 2 or 3 times a week both the local
stores and outside vendors created a street market... for foods and
flowers, it was exceptional. Unfortunately, I was living in a 4th
floor walk-up with hot plate and toaster oven for a kitchen... looking
back I wish I never left that place... great Couscous.

From what you ask about, it sounds more like you mean the flea markets.
Check out the section on Paris markets at www.jack-travel.com. For food
markets, I enjoy walking the Rue Mouffetard in the 5th, open most days I
believe.
