Basically all US banks do it, so someone must be forcing them to, otherwise
I'd think they'd just charge fees to furriners too.

There is that, I guess. It _is_ hard to believe that US banks would fail
to charge any fee that they possibly could.

There is that, I guess. It _is_ hard to believe that US banks would fail
to charge any fee that they possibly could.

What is your bank? I have Toronto-Dominion (part of the Canada Trust
group) and they said the fee would be $3 CAD per transaction. I'm
trying to find one that will charge less.

That will ensure that foreign tourists like me don't get any Danish
fees, but we'll still get docked by our own banks for using our ATM
cards in another country. But it's a useful tip to know - thanks! We
have the same thing in supermarkets, gas stations, etc. here.
