You could use an insect repellant. Anything with over 50% DEET works.

DFM wears a suit to work, what did you expect? :-)

Those who don't wear suits to work frequently make decisions at
meetings :-)

    >Hey- that's a point!

I noticed that in meetings where some wore suits and others didn't
that in most cases the suitless made the decisions and the suited
waffled. Being able to identify the suited requires at least one ftf
meeting. Once switched to teleconferencing most of the suited didn't
participate. IME ftf meetings that had 20 plus participants had only
around 6 participants, when the same meetings were replaced by
teleconferences. In large meetings a minority are specialist in the
subject being discussed, the rest get bored and try to go off topic so
that they can engage waffle mode.

Student of meeting strategy for 30 years.

my experience is that meetings are good for progress chasing, the
weekly closing the accounts meetings were really just so anybody
behind schedule felt humiliated in front of their peers.

Didn't we already ascertain that truly important people don't need to
wear suits?

Those people don't need meetings to make decisions, they use them for
other purposes.

In any case, making decisions is not my cup of tea. I'd rather someone
else did that, and I'll find reasons why they're the right ones!

Not going is a much better idea - mind you last time I was there no
mozzie bites - but they'd doubled the price of the beer and it was
full of people.

I thought it was made with gnat's piss, one lives and learns. :-)

Doubling the price of beer is not exclusive to Leiden. Black Sheep was
on sale at GPB3.65 a pint in a pub in Whitby.

We know we are but are too modest to boast about it :-)

We did ascertain that at one time DFM believed that everybody should
wear a suit to work. At the time I thought what a pillock he must look
amongst the rest of the staff producing software. :-)
Were ties mentioned?
