Marseille, the Vieux Port, sightseeing cruise to the Chateau d'If; Roman history in Aix - Arles - Nimes; ancient university, salt marshes, Crusader ports around Montpelier; Cassis (my former home) is generally crowded and far from its restful past. |

For example in the Sainte-Baume mountain, in the Verdon canyon or near the Thoronet abbey. For Ste Baume, get out of the A8 at Saint-Maximin, you will find many hotels in small towns or villages like Nans les Pins, Rougiers, Plan d'Aups, Mazaugues. http://www.provenceweb.fr/cartes/ukindex.htm http://www.hotelfp-saintmaximin.com/index_gb.htm (*** hotel) ** hotel in Cannet des Maures http://www.contact-hotel.com/index.php?l=uk&p=1222&i=HT http://www.cornichedor.com/ (**** Relais-Chateaux hotel) http://www.opengolfclub.com/en/hotel...hateauneuf.htm Logis de France (83 Var) http://www.logis-de-france.fr/uk/recherch/index-ca.htm To reach the Abbaye du Thoronet district, exit A8 at Le Luc, you can possibly find an hotel in Carces (2 small hotels), Lorgues, Cabasse, Flassans. http://www.tourisme83.com/abbaye_thoronet.htm http://www.ville-carces.fr/decouverte_carces/index.htm http://www.romanes.com/Thoronet/ Verdon : Salles sur Verdon, Bauduen, Aiguines. http://www.logis-de-france.fr//uk/region/provence.htm http://www.provenceweb.fr/cartes/ukindex.htm |
