Anyone familiar with the Mowbray or Arriva hotels? The prices seem
too good to be true but not sure if King's Cross or Earl's Court are
safe area. Thanks!

They are both slightly rough areas (a lot of prostitutes and drug dealing
in King's Cross, general-purpose seediness in Earl's Court) but as long as
you don't hang around in dark alleys they are as safe as any big city.
Personally I would opt for King's Cross (purely as a location -- I don't
know either hotel) purely because it's within walking distance of the West
End.

You'll be within walking distance of Russell Sq. (lovely park) and the
British Museum. Kings Cross isn't too bad an area. For restaurants,
search for Bloomsbury restaurants in this newsgroup.

Haven't heard of either of these. I always stay at the Royal Horseguards on
Whitehall Court when in London.

There are many hotels down this street and from the exterior, none look particularly comfortable.

I was not happy with my hotel in Earl's Court for two reasons. Tje shabbiness
of the area and the difficulty in reaching the areas of the city i wasnted to
see.
