Remember, apartments are not hotels so you have to adjust your
standards a little. None that we stayed at were aircon. Having said
that, we enjoyed it.
We stayed in the Rue Serouf at the end of June for four days at 95
euros pd. We booked thru
http://www.123france.com/europe/fran...c/apparius.htm.
When we arrived the original studio booked had had some sort of
problem, so they up-graded us to a different apartment in the same
area at no extra charge. Very happy.
We stayed for five days in Upper Berkeley Street - Marble Arch, 200m
from speakers corner and Oxford St in late July at GBP56 pd. Booked
thru
http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/ind...04.cfm?tgqfe=1.
Location was perfect, although it was interesting being in the centre
of what has become a very arabic area, with the flat next to a
synagogue. Don't try to buy pork or wine in the supermarket next
door:-)
We stayed for five days in Granada over Easter at 66 euros pd in Calle
Elvira. We booked via http://www.granadainfo.com/elvira/. They may
have contacts to other Spanish city apartments. Also try
www.madridman.com which is how we found them. Couldn't be closer to
the centre of things - walk to the Alhambra, religious processions
(with drums and cymbals and trumpets) under the bedroom window at 1
am:-)
One difficulty of booking is that each apartment owner/organisation
has their own special booking and payment rules. Check them carefully
before booking.
We rang in most cases, both to give cc details by phone rather than
the net and to confirm that there was a real person at the other end.
Enjoy your trip

Good friends have rented apartments in Paris several times through
Servissimo - www.servissimo.com . I have visited them in the studio (fiche
8 on the website) and it was exactly as depicted in the photos.
