Hi all, My husband and I are thinking to travel in UK in late july.
Can anyone suggest us a hotel(B&B or hostel is fine) with good price
and location. We will visit most of the tourist's hot spots. We don't
care about the fancy hotels as long as it is clean and clost to the
underground. Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.

What do you consider a budget hotel? I got the Comfort Inn Vauxhall on
Priceline for a rate that's around $54 US + tax/night. This is convenient
for me since I am coming from Gatwick. With you and your husband together, a
Priceline hotel might work out to be equivalent to two hostel beds, which
are more expensive than I expected in London. Are you arriving at Gatwick or
Heathrow? Presumably you would want a private room for you and your
husband - if so, I think you'll definitely come out ahead on Priceline vs. a
private hostel room. Check out www.biddingfortravel.com .

I stayed in Grange Lodge, and it was very pleasant. The rooms are cleam and
comfortable and not too pricey. The other hotels would be better for
location, and I imagine they would be up to the same standard.

Hi Mira, try going to www.Londonnights.com...we booked our hotel
through them a couple of months ago. We stayed at the Berjaya Eden
Park hotel and it was nice, clean and in a good neighborhood. I think
it was like $60 a day. Only a couple of minutes from a tube and bus
station. Also, right around the corner is a street with lots of
restaurants and shops. Have a good trip...Chris

First, thank all for your advice. I am surprised to see some hotels
are in fact cheaper than hostels or B&B!!!
Chris, the hotel which you recommeded seems very nice. Could you let
me know how far does it take from the hotel to the nearest station? Is
it easy to reach all the tourist spots like British Museum,
Westminster Abbey, St Paul Cathederal, Tower Bridge, House of
Parliment?Thanks again.

My wife and I do enough traveling to justify our Hostelling International
(HI) membership. Which is good at all the YHA Hostels in the UK.
In London, we have stayed at the City of London and the St. Pancras YHA.
Excellent location for both hostels, which are well maintained and
affordable. http://www.yha.org.uk/website-yhauk/...nl/london.html
Depending on the timing of your trip, a room at one of the
resident halls of the London School of Economics may be worth
investigating: http://www.lse.ac.uk/vacations/
And there are other Resident Halls where you can find the least expensive
lodging in London. But if you can only afford such lodging, postpone
your trip until your finances allow you something better.

...and don't forget that London is not really Britain...at least not
all that Britain has to show. I personally prefer the cities a little
further north such as Nottingham, Birmingham or Manchester, to name a
few. I Just came back from Manchester last week, where hotel rooms
with bath room and English breakfast can be found for as little as 25
Pounds per person/night. Not bad, eh?
