The next stage of the rebuilding of Antwerp Central rail station will take
place on the weekend 27-28 September 2003, when the tracks into the new
platforms (1-3) are being connected. No trains will run into or out of this
station on that Saturday or Sunday; a special bus service will be provided
for passengers between Antwerp Central and Antwerp-Berchem stations (allow
15 minutes for connections).

I intend taking the train into Antwerp Central from Brussels on Saturday

be appreciated.

Every month the SNCB/NMBS publishes details of the planned engineering work
liable to disrupt train running in Belgium. You can consult it on-line in
the form of an interactive map (placing the cursor over the symbol concerned
should provoke a pop-up overlay with full details) at the URL :
http://ari.sncb.be/trv/F/map.asp
and as a list (grouped by the timetable/line numbers; Brussels - Antwerp is
L.25) at the URL:
http://193.121.180.17/trv/liste.asp?lg=0
This "info travaux" is also posted at stations and available on RTBF-TV
teletext.

worst case the train stops in "berchem international station" and you
can take a bus tram, it's only 10 mins by foot, through the jewish
neighbourhood from the old city centre.
