Antwerp Carfree on 3 Sundays
On three Sundays in August and September the city centre of
Antwerp will be made carfree from 10 a.m. until 06 p.m.
On the 22nd of August and on the 5th and 19th of September the
city centre of Antwerp will be entirely carfree. On the west-east axis the
carfree zone will run from the Scheldt (Scheldekaaien) to the ring boulevard
(Leien), and on the north-south axis from Brouwersvliet to Scheldestraat.
From 10 a.m. until 06 p.m. all car traffic will be prohibited within this
area. On Sunday the 19th of September the district Antwerpen-Zuid is host to
the literary festival Zuiderzinnen. On that day a number of streets in the
immediate vicinity of the Museum of Fine Arts will also be closed to all car
traffic.
<SNIP details of free public transport and museum admission, animations etc.
