All forms of censorship are significant. When societies lose their civil
rights, it always begins with restrictions on freedom of speech.

You're more likely to be struck by lightning during your trip--no matter
what CNN says.

So is the flu.

Yeah, 200 dead, and only 1,000,000,000 left!

Which television channel told you that?

It's like the Iraq war ... exaggerated, sensationalized, and distorted in
order to improve TV ratings, with all concern for truth and balance in
reporting tossed out the window.

Freedom of speech is important. Right to a fair trial is important.
Issue is the balance. I'll be happy to let the courts decide on where it
should be.

In any event, we are merely dealing with temporory bans, and usually on
pretty sensationalist details of gory murders and the like. Not as if
there were major society issues at stake.

If I wanted to make a case, I would rather use hate speech restrictions.
Even on that one though, I am sure someone will quickly come up with the
shouting fire in a theater counterexample.

Proud of?

Not particularly. OTOH I would be ashamed of having such a
law on the books.

By the way. Bush had nothing to do with this. It was JFK that did that. Are
all your fact this wrong?

I don't see why they need too... There is no way someone could see or do
everything there is to see and do in a lifetime in the US. If Americans
would just stay home and keep their money here, our economy would be great
and the rest of you liberal governments could go to hell.. Starting with
those sorry two faced people to the north of us.

More people die of the plain old flu every winter.

Well apparently in Canada you can't talk much about Nazi's, and if you
play a role in Government you might be tossed in jail if you do.

The only issue here is denial of speech, nothing balances that.

I would like to go to Cuba some day. Sounds like a pretty
cool place if you are a tourist.

They wont for long if your peaceful people of canada throw rocks and spit on
12 year old kids from their country that are just there for a soccer
match... You people are despicable, lowlife pieces of shit

Today, perhaps. Two months from now, it will be a different story.
Surely if you go to Hong Kong today, there are risks.

The flu does not get people in intensive care.

If it doubles every week, that will take 22.25 weeks.
