Airline and hotel recommendations

I'm looking to arrange a couple of weeks around continental Europe (starting
in London) so am trying to find an airline that either specialises in flight
"hopping" between European cities, or is particularly cheap.
Likely cities are Rome, Venice, Paris, and Barcelona.
For example Ryanair seem to be OK, but their flight routes aren't
particularly brilliant to Italy (based on the above cities) as they mostly
fly to Milan.
Also, can anyone recommend any guides (either offline or online) for
reasonable but cheap hotel accommodation in the above cities.
Any ideas?
TIA

check out easyjet, British Midland, British Airways, Buzz, KLM, Alitalia.
Airlines like Ryan air keep costs low by using regional airports. Many of
the larger airlines run routes with stopovers in the locations you are
talking about, try some of the bigger lines like Lufthansa too.
As for offline guides, I would recommend rough guides, time-out, lonely
planet. Pretty soon I will have these locations on my site but obviously not
before you need to use them.
Finally for accommodation you may also want to contact the local tourist
boards of each location, generally they can send you lists of local small
businesses (accommodation) that might not necessarily have an internet
presence.
good luck
