Default Advice re Bari/Brindisi region of Italy?

Planning a week in Puglia (Southern Italy) in late September.
Hiring a car. Self and spouse.
Arrive Brindisi and leave from Bari airports.
Any advice on places to see and where to stay? Places to avoid?
Min 3* hotels - we like the seaside - beaches - walking.
Are there any beaches in this part of Italy?
Also like to visit ancient ruins.
Need a hotel for first night that's near Brindisi Airport.
Tried usual web sites but prefer to deal direct with hotels.
Anyone know about transport from Brindisi Airport into the town? Taxi?

Hi Dee,
i was born there many years ago, and so i know very well that places: all my
family is still there.

many things to see: search on the net this names
- castellana grotte
- polignano a mare
- martina franca
- alberobello
- otranto
- matera
- trani and his cathedral

Brindisi doesn't have any attraction i think, the center of bari is nice:
castello svevo, old town, piazza del ferrarese, via sparano and corso cavour
(shopping streets).

note: take care, attention at the pickpockets

that's all that my bad english allow me to say :-) if you need help, i'm
here
ciao

Hi Dee, now you have my e-mail.

South of Brindisi: look this little town, on the sea, 'OTRANTO'. Is very
nice!
Other places in that zone: 'OSTUNI', the white city, and 'FASANO' with his
'Selva di Fasano'.

A nice plase by the sea, where is possible to stay in peace some days, with
sand and not stones near the sea, is 'Laghi di Alimini', near Otranto.

ciao
