Does anyone know of any good sites for discount hotels for accomodations in Norway, especially Bergen and Oslo?
I know that most hotels have summer rates for June and July but wanted to see if anything was cheaper...
Is there something like Priceline over in Europe?
Thakns.

I have had good success getting very discounted hotel rooms in the US and
Canada and London on Priceline, but no success in Scandinavia (tried 4
cities). I tried for July dates.
In Oslo, I got a private double room with its own bath at the Anker Hostel.
See http://www.albertine.no. The price is pretty reasonable.

I'm going to Norway next week. I didn't find any services like that but look at
"fjord pass" you can get a bit of a discount. By the way, Norway hotels are the
most expensive I have ever seen.

I think there is a pass for Rainbow or Tulip hotels that reduces the price
quite a bit.
You can also see some hotel rooms listed that are a bit more reasonable in
price at laterooms.com:

When we were there at this time last year, we stayed at several
Rainbow/Golden Tulip hotels. By using a SKAN+ card rooms were about 1/2 the
rack rate and every 5th night was free. The SKAN+ card was about 15 Euros
and IMHO very well worth it. Check out http://www.skanplus.com/ for the
particulars. Their website has the prices for all the covered hotels
throughout Scandinavia.
On a personal note, we found the Rainbow Astoria to be a great choice in
Oslo. It's a short walk from the central train station and convenient to
most of the main tourist sights. The Rainbow Orion in Bergen was also a good
choice. It's located in the old Bryggen area and convenient to the Mount
Flöyen funicular and downtown areas.

This service also looks as if it might provide a reduction from rack rate.
