I'm about to leave for a Royal Princess cruise which will visit
Thailand, Saigon, Singapore, Cochin, Bombay and want to buy some silk
for the woman who is minding my dog - she wants to make a blouse. Can
someone suggest the best place to buy this?
TIA

What is the dog's preference for colours?

Out of the ports of call you listed, I would think that Thailand would be
the pick - depending on where you stop and how much time you have. Thai silk
is somewhat famous and the exchange rate and lower shop rents should work in
your favour. Not sure if it applies to silk, but I was told as a general
tactic when negotiating prices in Thailand one should try to beat the seller
down to about half price, then walk away.... sounds ruthless, but the advice
came from a local.
